Project Id- ACD009: The Odum Residence

Project: Modern Farmhouse | Design: Archncivil Studio.

1. Exterior Design & Form
The Odum Residence utilizes a Modern Farmhouse vernacular, balancing clean lines with traditional symmetry.
Massing: A side-gabled main volume with a prominent central shed dormer that acts as a light monitor for the interior.
Porch: A deep, full-width wraparound porch provides essential passive shading and transitional outdoor living.
Technical Details: Elevations specify Board and Batten siding and a durable Metal Seam Roof with a steep 12/12pitch, optimized for weather shedding.

2. Spatial Layout
The floor plan separates the home into two distinct functional zones:
Public Core: The left side features a massive, open-concept Great Room. A central exposed beam supports a vaulted ceiling, creating vertical volume that expands the feel of the footprint.
Private Wing: The right side houses two bedrooms. Bedroom #2 is tucked in the rear for privacy, while Bedroom #1 at the front features a private bath.
Utility Hub: The laundry and pantry are centrally located to serve as sound and activity buffers between the zones.

3. Environmental Adaptability
The 3D renders demonstrate the design’s versatility across different climates:
Summer: The deep overhangs protect the interior from solar heat gain.
Winter: The steep roof pitch prevents heavy snow accumulation.
Storm: The specified metal roofing ensures superior drainage and durability in high-moisture environments.

4. Construction Specs
Structure: 2×6 exterior walls for enhanced insulation; 2×4 interior walls.
Height: A maximum ridge height of 22′-9″ allows for the vaulted interiors without exceeding residential scale.
Elevation: Finished floor at +1′-0″ protects against surface water runoff.
